Netaji Welfare Foundation

The Year 1998 saw the consolidation of our foundation after the general election held on 28-3-1988. Up-to that time, the management of the foundation was in the hands of the protem committee formed at the inaugural meeting held on 29-05-1997.

MEMBERSHIP : As at 31-12-1998 we had 22 members. One member, who was a senior staff member Bank of Tokyo died during the year. Another member who passed away on 20th October 1998 was Mr.P.Krishnan, husband of our Hon. Treasurer, Y.B.Tan Sri Devaki Krishnan.

AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIPS : 17 Secondary school students from various schools in Wilaya Persekutuan were given scholarships. These awards were made according of the recommendations by the respective school heads. Although invited to submit applications for scholarships for deserving secondary school students of poor parents, Two schools did not respond as requested. A list of recipients and the amount of money given is attached to this report.
